Each Mill Valley Candleworks candle is hand crafted with care. We use only the highest quality food grade waxes, European cotton braided wicks, essential oils, and botanical essences.
Our fragrances are locked inside the wax and will release a beautiful, balanced, subtle aroma when burning. We do not over fragrance our candles, as this would also reduce the quality of the burn. Mill Valley Candleworks uses 100% linen wicks imported from Germany.
In order to achieve maximum enjoyment and extended burn times from our quality, hand-crafted candles, we recommend that you burn your candle for as long as it takes to form a well that reaches at least ¼ inch from the edge. The time that this will take will vary depending on the diameter of the candle.
Avoid placing candles in direct sunlight & strong drafts. Never leave a burning candle unattended.
Candle Maintenance Instructions
Our candles are made from the finest ingredients available. In order to maximize your enjoyment we recommend the following procedures to properly maintain your candles:
To ensure a beautiful clean burn and maximum candle life, the first time you light your candle let it burn for ten minutes and then extinguish it. Using a wick trimmer or scissors trim the wick to ¼ inch then proceed to relight your candle and let it burn until the wax pool is approximately ½ inch from the edge. This process could take from two to 12 hours depending on the diameter of the candle. Doing this will ensure a clean, long lasting and luminescent burn.
For the best results, repeat this process each time you light your candle. Our quality candles are self-consuming. There is no need to pour out the wax. Also we recommend that you remove all wick trimmings and match residue in the candle, as this debris will compromise the burn quality.
